Description
Hot bukovo is a Balkan spice that belongs to the capsicum family (Capsicum annum) and consists of dried and crushed red hot peppers. It has a red brick color and a spicy taste. Its pungency is due to the concentrations of capsaicin contained in some types of pepper, while the increase in temperature, exposure to sunlight, humidity, soil chemistry and the conditions under which they are dried, also play an important role.
It is usually used in meats and sauces, but it is also added to cheeses to give it its spicy taste.
