Description
Pink pepper is the fruit of a shrub, which has nothing to do with the plant from which we get our familiar black pepper. Originating as far away as Brazil, these lovely reddish-pink seeds have a subtle and slightly bitter taste. It is usually used whole (not grated), because it is extremely delicate and its outer skin breaks very easily. It is less hot than other types of peppers and emits sweet aromas. It is used in recipes with fish, soups, vegetables, but also in combination with other pepper seeds to give a colorful mixture, and it is also used in tea.
