Description
The fruits of the spice belong to the tropical evergreen tree of the species Pimenta Dioica. In essence, it is the dried and unripe fruits of the tree. This species thrives in countries around the tropics, such as Cuba, Latin America and especially the Caribbean. Whole allspice seeds have a longer shelf life than the ground product and produce a more aromatic product when freshly ground before use.
