Black tea comes from the Camellia Sinensis bush. The black color of the tea results through a process known as oxidation (air rich in oxygen and moisture) where the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis bush turn from green to black.

Its genus includes more than 70 species, however in Greece we find only one species. It is widespread throughout Europe and Northern Asia, in cultivated fields, gardens, slopes, in temperate climates.

Mountain tea is a particularly beloved herb, popular in all Mediterranean countries, especially in the winter months. Its nutritional value is remarkable and along with the unique taste, it also contributes to the hydration of the body.

Laurel is an aromatic plant and is also found naturally in Greece. Laurel is usually found as a shrub or small tree and the smell of its leaves is aromatic while their taste is a little bitter.

Sea salt is salt produced by the evaporation of seawater. It is used as a seasoning in food, in cooking, in cosmetics and in food preservation.

The coconut is the inside of the fruit (endosperm) of the coconut (Cocos nucifera), and is eaten dried and grated. It has a white color, a slightly sweet taste and a mild nutty aroma.

Baking powder is a chemical leavening agent in powder form. It works by releasing carbon dioxide gas into the dough or batter through an acid-base reaction, and the bubbles swell the fresh dough resulting in a puffy and fluffy pastry.

Vanillin is a phenolic aldehyde used as a flavoring in confectionery in place of natural vanilla, as due to its industrialized production, it has an extremely lower price than natural vanilla.
